History

1957
In an old house nicknamed »Pri Komencu« a couple of visionaries started a production of plastic bags. The company Poligalant was set up, followed by construction of business premises and production facilities where separate processes of extrusion, injection moulding and dental prosthetics took place.

1979
Production departments transformed to independent businesses, joined by the fourth company PLASTIK with a similar production programme.

1991
Following the breakup of SFRY, the company lost most of its markets. In attempt to struggle through economic hardship a mixed-owner company, named ULTRAPAC d.o.o., was established. Having the majority stake, German company Ommer provided up-to-date polyethylene bags production technology and know-how. Beside the home market, export to western economies was growing ever more important.

1999
In order to further improve its quality and gain recognition among its suppliers the company adopted ISO 9001:2000 certificate. Consistently investing in its human and technology resources the company made its way to become one of the top Slovenian producers of PE bags and films.

2005
Companies Ultrapac d.o.o., Gommer d.o.o. and Poligalant d.d. joined their stakes in Ultrapac d.d.
